Dr. Benjamin Kuhar is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced expertise in refractive and cataract surgery. He is highly skilled in LASIK, PRK, SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction), and ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) procedures, frequently providing vision correction surgery for members of the U.S. military.
Dr. Kuhar holds multiple academic and leadership roles, including Associate Program Director of the Ophthalmology Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Through these appointments, he is committed to mentoring and training future military ophthalmologists.
Dedicated to excellence in both surgical outcomes and patient-centered care, Dr. Kuhar is known for using state-of-the-art technology and a personalized approach to help each patient achieve optimal vision. His passion for precision and compassion ensures a safe, comfortable, and rewarding experience.
When he’s not in the clinic or operating room, Dr. Kuhar enjoys running, cycling, and playing tennis and pickleball. A native of New England, he and his wife are loyal Boston sports fans.
