Dr. Jeffrey Moon is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced expertise in LASIK, PRK, and cataract procedures. He currently leads as Chief of Refractive Surgery at Womack Army Medical Center, located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Dr. Moon is deeply committed to excellence in surgical vision correction, having performed more than 1,000 refractive surgeries for active-duty military personnel in under two years at Fort Liberty.
A proud graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Moon went on to complete his ophthalmology residency within the San Antonio Military Health System, gaining extensive clinical and surgical experience across diverse patient populations. His educational background also includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa and transitional training at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
What sets Dr. Moon apart is not only his surgical precision but his personal connection to the procedures he performs—he has undergone refractive surgery himself, giving him first-hand insight into the patient journey. This experience drives his patient-focused approach, ensuring every individual receives the highest standard of care and comfort.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Moon enjoys quality time with his wife, two daughters, and their yellow lab. His hobbies include playing piano, hiking, cycling, running, and catching the latest films.
